Viktualienmarkt
One of the places I went was Viktualienmarkt, located near Marienplatz. Well, come to think of it, most of the places I visited in Munich were all located nearby each other. Made sightseeing a lot easier :)
If you are really hungry but you don't have the euros, then don't go here! It is just too tempting to resist! All the cheese, meat, fruits, vegetables, sausages - they made me salivate.
The weather was just gorgeous. Blue skies with beautiful clouds with the sun shining and yet the heat was comfortable. You just want to sit outside with your friends to chat and enjoy a good meal. Another plus side was that although the place was busy, it was not too crowded.
Another picture of the many outdoor cafes or restaurants situated in this area. I would like to be able to do that in Kyoto or in Malaysia but the humidity and heat in these two places will just kill you. You end up getting drenched in sweat and your face is all red and oily. Ugh.
And another cafe.....
The Maypole in the middle of the square. The Maypole in the centre carries figurettes displaying the trades and crafts of this part of Munich. It was quite high up, couldn't really see what was at the top.
Life was pretty slow around here. Slow and easy. The traffic in this area was mild, probably because it is a tourist area. Cyclists were everywhere and dogs were brought along for the trip; they reminded me of Kyoto.
Lastly, one of the many colorful sightseeing buses in Munich.
