Mitarashi matsuri 2006

Yup, the Mitarashi Matsuri at Shimogamo shrine had came and went. I posted about this last year. So this time, I will post different photos than the ones last year.



I love this place when it is all lighted up. The beautiful red glow....gorgeous. I think I said the same thing last year about it. This time though I was well prepared - I wore shorts for the wading-in-the-river cleansing ceremony!



And I went twice...again. I like the picture above taken during dusk. Love the dark hue of the sky. I think I contrasted it abit here.

I tried taking this photo last year but it turned out bad. It is a part of the shrine inside the temple which was only lighted up with these lamps.

Decided to try photographing in Black and White mode......not bad..



Surprisingly enough, the pictures had not that many people inside. Don't let that fool you, on the second day, there were so many people in the grounds.



This is blur...but I like it anyway.
