Summer is here....
This beach is near the nuclear power plant site that had a serious accident last year when steam leaked from a broken pipe, which resulted in the death of four workers. I read about the news just before we went, but I did not know that this was the place and I was wondering why there were so many people in front of the building with cameras, videocams and microphones and the helicopters hovering about. There was no radiation leak however, thank god. But still, it was a bit er, weird, to be swimming and enjoying ourselves so a near nuclear plant site where four people died.
Everyone was enjoying themselves...sunning, swmming, jetskiing....Girls were out with their bikinis (sorry guys, no pictures ;p), there were families outings, gatherings of friends..etc. We were sitting near this group of foreigners who were really enjoying themselves, blasting dance music and gyrating to the sound. They were definately having fun.
A better view of the beach. It was a really hot sunny day, perfect for the beach, but I could not walk barefoot cause the sand was burning the soles of my feet!
This was the fav place for a couple of swimmers who loved diving into the water.
Saw this couple, hiding behind the rock formation. Probably wanted to get away from the crowd and the sun. Nice cozy spot for couples...hahaha. After soaking up the sun and heat, we headed to a nice onsen (hot spring) and had a fine time relaxing before heading home to Kyoto, passing by the beautiful Biwa Lake in the night.
